Welcoming our new CFO Tony Corbin
White Star Capital’s team continues to grow, and we’re thrilled to share that Tony Corbin has joined us as our new CFO and General Partner.
Tony brings over 17 years of experience from his previous role at PwC, where he specialised in providing audit and advisory services to alternative investment funds. In particular, Tony focussed on supporting new venture capital funds as they launched and established their operations.
He brings excellent expertise as White Star Capital looks to launch new funds, expand existing investment strategies, and accelerate our global operation functions.
Having spent time working in Guernsey, and also the UK and Australia, Tony brings exceptional experience and an international outlook. This global perspective is an integral part of White Star’s ethos and investment strategy and has been one of the drivers of success as the firm has grown to manage over $1bn in assets and looks to further grow in the coming years.
Expansion of our operations team
This appointment marks the continued expansion of our team in Guernsey, which has grown rapidly over the last 18 months. We now have a team of ten based on the island, including the majority of our operations team. This includes Patrick Recasens Morente, White Star Capital’s Chief Legal Officer & General Partner, who recently moved to Guernsey to support the operations and investment teams, and will be working closely alongside Tony.
Both Tony and Patrick join the existing team of Laura Havard, Scott Sebire and Adam Gale who have all joined the firm in the last few years. More recently, the team has been bolstered by Jordan Tostevin, a Fund Accounting Manager with a particular focus on our Digital Asset Funds. Jordan brings with him a wealth of experience having previously supported venture capital funds as a fund administrator, and prior to that worked with EY.
We also have a new Legal & Fund Administration Manager, Katrina Rowe, joining us imminently to add her experience and expertise gained from a number of international legal and company secretarial roles.
Future of White Star Capital on Guernsey
With the strengthening of its operations team in St Peter Port, and the launch of a new office, White Star Capital has committed to providing an operational hub on Guernsey for our international investment team based out of London, New York, Paris, Singapore, Toronto, Montreal & Tokyo. We look forward to continuing our expansion as White Star Capital grows.
